Dr. Duel is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and has experience in providing psychiatric treatment for the full scope of mental health disorders. He also has a special interest in Addiction/Substance Use Disorders and has successfully helped many struggling with use disorders overcome their struggles through therapy, medication management, and lifestyle optimization. As Medical Director of an outpatient addiction clinic, he created and led a clinical team of counselors, therapists, case managers, and nurse practitioners to provide clients with wraparound care addressing both addiction and mental health disorders. He has also worked as an Adult Psychiatrist in the Los Angeles area through various community clinics serving patients on Medi-Cal and those suffering from severe mental illnesses.
Dr. Duel is a UCLA Bruin through and through. He obtained his bachelors in Psychobiology at UCLA, completed medical school at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and completed his psychiatry residency training at UCLA. Through his training at UCLA, Dr. Duel also worked at the West Los Angeles VA, trained in TMS, and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, mood, and sleep disorders. He has extensive pharmacologic experience treating complex mood, psychosis, OCD, anxiety, and geriatric disorders.
In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with family. He is also fluent in Farsi.
Dr. Park is a board-certified General Adult Psychiatrist and board-eligible in Internal Medicine, with expertise in managing mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. He has a background in clinical instruction, research and community service.
Dr. Park graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his psychiatry residency at UC Irvine and his internal medicine residency at UC Davis.

Shahrzad “Shery” Shadmani is dual board-certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Medicine with over 15 years of experience providing holistic care to patients across the full spectrum of health and mental health disorders. Having worked in diverse healthcare settings, Shery has a deep understanding of chronic conditions and mental health challenges, with a special focus on addressing the root causes. In their integrative psychiatry practice, Shery combines medication management and lifestyle optimization to empower patients on their wellness journeys. Their approach ensures that every patient feels seen, heard, and supported, from diagnosis to treatment.
Shery earned both their FNP and PMHNP post-master’s degrees from Purdue University and has been passionate about healthcare since the beginning of their career in 2007. Their journey into mental health was sparked by an interest in treating complex cases with compassion, which led them to build an integrative practice that blends mental and physical health care. Shery is particularly skilled in treating anxiety, mood disorders, and chronic health conditions through an evidence-based, patient-centered approach.
Outside of their practice, Shery is an avid foodie with a passion for cooking and traveling. Exploring new cultures and cuisines enriches their perspective on life and influences their approach to wellness.
Dr. José Flores, MD, PhD, MPH, is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. He completed his medical and doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, followed by an addiction psychiatry fellowship at Yale and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Flores has extensive experience treating people of all ages, including youth and young adults with substance use disorders, as well as managing complex psychiatric conditions in emergency, correctional, and community settings. He has published widely in medical and psychiatric research and has received multiple academic and research awards.
Dr. Flores believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life with good mental health and to be treated with the utmost compassion, regardless of their background, struggles, diagnosis, or life journey. He prioritizes building trusting, supportive relationships with his patients, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and empowered in their care. Laura Gallegos, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a deep commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She earned her BA in Psychology from Cal State University of Long Beach before advancing her education with a BSN and MSN from Azusa Pacific University, where she graduated with high honors while working as a Registered Nurse.
Laura began her nursing career at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where she provided care to patients with acute and chronic medical and psychiatric conditions. She also honed her expertise at Del Amo Hospital, gaining invaluable experience across child, adolescent, youth, and geriatric psychiatric inpatient units. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Laura now excels as a psychiatric provider, treating patients with complex co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is skilled in conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and implementing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the needs of her patients.
In her current role, Laura works across various clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, telepsychiatry, and IOP/PHP programs, where she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care. Her approach to mental health is rooted in compassion and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Her diverse background spans intensive care, perioperative recovery, and psychiatric care, equipping her with a holistic perspective on mental health treatment. She has worked in various settings, including surgical and trauma intensive care units, PACU, outpatient psychiatry, and IOP/PHP treatment facilities, employing a client-centered approach that fosters collaboration between patients and providers while optimizing psychopharmacological management for positive outcomes. She was working as a registered nurse in the field of psychiatry for 15 years before she became a PMHNP-BC six years ago. With a career spanning various roles, including outpatient psychiatric services, emergency care, and education in the field of psychiatry, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge in psychopharmacology, patient assessments, and treatment planning. She also works as an Assistant Professor at Western University of Health Sciences in the PMHNP Program. She is deeply committed to educating future psychiatric nurse practitioners while providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Her expertise in collaboration, patient education, psychiatric evaluation, and management of psychiatric conditions makes her an invaluable addition to our team.
Outside of work, Karen spends most of her free time riding her bike. She has been riding and racing for approximately 20 years. She enjoys riding on the road and trails. When she can, she takes her dog Lola with her.
